Processes customer textiles in accordance with established operating procedures. Maintains productivity and cost effectiveness. Teamwork oriented. Ensures linen service attendants complete day-to-day activities.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. EXPERIENCE: 1. Previous laundry experience preferred. Performs laundry duties and maintains infection control/productivity expectations set by the department 100% of the time. 2. Assist with coordinating the assignments of team members and acts as the contact person for the department in the absence of management. 3. Demonstrates effective communication (open, honest and direct) skills. 4. Contributes to organizational goals. 5. Demonstrates the ability to function as a team member to achieve departmental goals 100% of the time. 6. Provides relief assistance to staff when needed. 7. Meets all job specific standards and expectations 100% of the time. 8. Schedules, conducts and documents initial and ongoing training and in servicing of staff concerning infection control procedures, equipment usage and laundering techniques. 9. Inspects and documents areas of responsibility to ensure quality standards are maintained. 10. Will assist staff with work on a daily basis. 11. Treats customers, visitors and staff with dignity and respect 100% of the time. 12. Follows up with management, customers and staff about issues in a timely manner. 13. Follows all hospital and departmental policies and procedures 100% of the time 14. Actively participates in the departments and organizations continuing improvement process 15. Supports change by exhibiting willingness to offer and try new ideas 16. Takes ownership for decisions/actions taken. Works with others to make the department better 17. Must be able to operate all laundry equipment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to push/pull heavily loaded carts weighing up to 600 pounds. 3. Must be able to stand 95% of the shift (8 - 12 hours).
