About the role

This Director of Engineering role is responsible for the strategy and staff that deliver devices, applications and services that support the digital employee experience (DEX). This role is accountable for all functions, including operations, governance, enablement and engineering. This leader is ultimately responsible for setting priorities, managing the engineering and operations teams, and shipping technology that creates value.


What you'll do in this role

  • Creating a culture of enablement to drive adoption and improve workforce digital dexterity.
  • Developing a digital workplace strategy that reduces digital friction and improves the digital employee experience.
  • Delivering business-enabling technology by harmonizing devices, applications and services.
  • Building partnerships among key stakeholders and business leaders to ensure that digital workplace initiatives support business outcomes.
  • Creating a culture of data-driven analysis and overseeing the sharing and synthesis of that data to amplify employee experience outcomes.
  • Utilizing organizational change management best practices to drive technology adoption.
  • Fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning to enhance organizational knowledge management practices.
  • Embodying bias for action, while also balancing responsiveness to operational needs with long-term strategy and data driven decision-making.



Oversees a wide range of responsibilities, leading multiple teams and functions across the organization:



  • Service Desk and Desktop Support: Leads the operations teams responsible for providing comprehensive support to end users.
  • User Device Management Engineering: Leads the team focused on managing enterprise devices and integration with adjacent systems.
  • ServiceNow Team: Leads the team responsible for managing and optimizing the ServiceNow platform to support business operations, enterprise-wide automation and IT service management.
  • Productivity Solutions: Leads the Productivity team in optimizing Office 365, ensuring adoption of the M365 platform, reviewing compliance and security in M365, and owning the end-user-facing application portfolio to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Incident Management: Leads the company-wide Incident Management function, ensuring swift and effective resolution of Incidents, the effective handling of major incidents, and the efficient use of problem management to ensure long term proactive prevention of incidents.
  • Knowledge Management Systems: Implement and oversee knowledge management systems to ensure that information is easily accessible and effectively utilized across the organization.

Compensation

Salary Range: $156,900- $261,600 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.


Your education, skills and experience


  • 15+ years engineering or operations management experience in high-growth organizations with experience managing leaders of high performing functions (or equivalent experience)



  • Experience applying technical solutions (call center, self service, automation, etc.) within the context of a support organization.



  • Brings contemporary knowledge in SaaS software engineering and solutions architecture.



  • Experience managing a team that delivers a large enterprise wide SaaS platform such as M365, Workday, ServiceNow, or other similar platform.


  • Recent experience with microservices, serverless, event driven and distributed systems architecture
  • A champion for agile delivery including enterprise-wide collaboration in Change and Release management. Experience scaling up agile.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, overseeing contract compliance, and ensuring appropriate license footprints.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
