Summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking an Asset Solutions Manager to join our team in Dallas, TX. The Asset Solutions Manager manages IT assets while aligning with the organizational business drivers that promote return on investment, reduce risk and increase productivity. This individual is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position requires the employee to interpret, track, allocate and process invoices for hardware and software requests. Determine if a purchase should be made, avoiding unnecessary spending.



  • Order hardware, software, and services for all three BU's (Building, Civils, Investments).
  • Determine appropriate cost allocations.
  • Asset management - using existing tools (BMC, SCCM, Lansweeper).
  • Evaluate and recommend Asset Management software to implement that would benefit and fill the needs of our environment.
  • Track all purchases, and backorders working with Operations and Users on delays.
  • Code IT invoices after approvals and research invoice coding questions.
  • Cell phone administrator for Investments.
  • Track mobile changes in mobile provider portal for Investments.
  • Direct the effective delivery of networks, assets, computers, and processes.
  • Closely monitor with management, external vendors, and advisors.
  • Manage and track software renewals.
  • Provide support and leadership on asset procurement to indirect reports with IT.
  • Assist in the detailed inventory of the organization's software and hardware assets.
  • Create and maintain documentation of Asset Management process flow charts.
  • Perform research on industry best practice and incorporate it with organizational practices.
  • Research, evaluate, recommend and implement new technologies.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to determine trends in asset performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality control throughout the lifecycle of hardware and software.
  • Managing and maintaining databases and records of information such as licenses, service agreements, and warranties for the organization's software and hardware.
  • Meet regularly with different vendors to lay out expectations and remove roadblocks.
  • Maintain responsible relationships with accounting within different divisions reviewing expenses for multiple projects.
  • Coordinate asset planning with HR regarding New Hires, Leavers and Interns.
  • Regularly evaluate hardware to make sure demands are being met by our internal customers.
  • Manage hardware/software/service invoices to make sure they are processed timely.
  • Monitor our Asset Management que to make sure requests are handled as quickly as possible.
  • Receive equipment and log into HelpDesk system of record.
  • Manage, monitor, and delete PC names from Active Directory.
  • Coordinate asset disposal with external vendors.
  • Monitor and order items to maintain in-stock levels (power supplies, docks, bags, etc.).
  • Create and implement new processes to improve monthly reporting.
  • Ensure assets, especially software licenses, are utilized in accordance with their EULA.
  • Communicate with employees to facilitate successful purchases and renewals


Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred but not required
  • 5+ years IT Support Experience
  • Ability to find creative solutions to meet the needs of employee
  • Analyze processes and make changes to improve overall efficiency
  • Analyze raw data and create reports
  • Multitask on several projects at once
  • Effectively manage time when working on multiple projects
  • Document step by step procedures
  • Prefer the candidate to work out of the Dallas office


Travel Requirements

This role may travel to jobsites and offices on an as-needed basis.

Working Conditions

Mainly indoors in climate-controlled settings. Periodic jobsite visits possible where conditions vary. Safety on these jobsites is the highest priority, but work environment can be dusty and not climate controlled at times.

Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting, walking, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, reading, seeing, speaking, hearing, listening, organizing, inputting, and interpreting data and information, operating office and field equipment, using a keyboard, viewing a computer screen, and use of a mobile telephone.
