Overview
VTG is seeking a Capture Manager to support our Virginia Beach location.
What will you do?
- Work both independently and in close collaboration with Business Development/Sales Managers to develop new business opportunities, teaming relationships, intelligence, strategy and action plans.
- In close collaboration with Proposal Managers and Business Development Managers, develop and implement strategies for winning and general program execution for new business opportunities. Develop capture plans (i.e. win themes, technical and management solutions, teaming and pricing strategies, timelines); establish capture budget/B&P; and provide smooth transition of opportunities from the Qualified phase through the Proposal phase.
- Validate and update capture plans; participate in executive management reviews, color reviews and other collaborative methods to ensure the pursuit process is moving forward; establish timelines and manage internal and external expectations. Communicate and collaborate high-level proposal strategies and solutions and appropriate actions plans throughout the organization and with industry partners.
- Build internal and external relationships by developing internal capture teams, cultivating and maintaining customer and partner relationships, identifying customer programs and procurement organizations, defining customer buying cycles, developing customer contact plans, collaborating on value propositions, and by attending community and business development forums. Key partner relationships can be from routine to complex arrangements and include providing guidance for the drafting of appropriate contractual arrangements (i.e., teaming agreements, joint ventures, etc.).
- Perform internal, program, customer, and competitor assessments by gathering, analyzing, and validating data; gaining clear understanding of requirements, issues, wants, needs, and hot buttons; assessing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT); and determining critical gaps and discriminators.
Do you have what it takes?
- Detailed understanding of Department of Defense acquisition process from both the government and contractor perspective. Understanding of service and product ID/IQ multiple award contracts.
- Working knowledge of C4ISR/C4IT programs within the federal government community.
- Ability to understand and clarify customer goals, create customized solutions and recommend value-added solutions in order to identify and/or qualify an opportunity, and/or to develop a strategic capture plan.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; thorough, clear, and timely communications; ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes. Must be skilled at building effective working relationships at every level of the organization.
- Attention to detail, superior time management, strong independent and team contributor, and good organizational skills.
- Strong analytical (quantitative and qualitative), verbal and written communication skills, including strong negotiating and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions in stressful business situations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or related field.
