Senior Firewall Engineer (Cloud/IAM/Zscaler)

Description:

We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our clients Information Security team. The team protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems in core systems and platforms. As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, your daily responsibilities revolve around vigilantly monitoring all security activities on the company's network and overseeing the robust security infrastructure that facilitates these operations. Working in tandem with a team of cybersecurity engineers, you will spearhead efforts to prevent and remediate cybersecurity incidents through continuous optimization of policies and rules.

As a senior technical member of the team, you'll play a crucial role in fostering cross-functional partnerships, particularly with the IT department and product groups. You will provide robust support and implement stringent security measures across global platforms, ensuring that solutions remain fortified against evolving cyber threats while seamlessly integrating with the company's objectives.

Rate: $50 - $65 / hr. w2

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade firewall solutions, including next-generation firewall, to enforce network security policies and protect against advanced threats.
• Configure and deploy security tools and technologies specific to cloud environments, such as cloud access security brokers, web application firewalls, and cloud-native security services.
• Architect and deploy secure access service edge solutions integrating security capabilities for the comprehensive protection of distributed networks and remote users.
• Implement and optimize centralized identity and access management systems, ensuring secure access to resources and data and adhering to least privilege principles.
• Utilize Microsoft Security Suite tools for threat detection, investigation, and response across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Develop and implement cybersecurity policies aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, fostering continuous improvement.
• Conduct security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend remediation measures to enhance overall security posture.
• Communicate complex security concepts effectively, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive security initiatives.

5+ years of progressively in depth IT experience covering IT Security (I.E. Network Security/Systems/Application Security) and an advance understanding of networks

5+ years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on

• Network / Systems / Security Engineering
• Exposure to Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) technologies
• Experience with handling traffic sources/destinations
• Exposure to enforcing/creating new policies, processes, permissions, et cetera
• Ability to work with PAM/IAM/authentication with PoLP (principle of least privilege) and use certificates / SSO / MFA
• Operating firewalls, security architectures, and zero trust mechanisms
• Ability to tune a VPN

Bachelors Degree desired, not required, any additional certifications (I.E. Azure, AWS, CISSP, et cetera) are also highly desired, bonus points for multiple / ongoing certifications or studies, this team prides themselves in being self sustaining, we're always learning and growing and hope to find someone with the same mentality
