Description: Location: Hybrid- NY, Raleigh NC , LA or Seattle Our clients Media Engineering team handles audio, video, and metadata content from ingest through publish - for normalization, processing, and packaging - supporting operator tools and automation for a scalable workflow. They build logic across players and back-end services to measure, control, and optimize playback across our stack. They are looking for hardworking team players to join the Media Engineering team - and will have experience working with BrightScript and the Roku App. Primarily, an engineer with enthusiasm for learning, knowledge sharing, programming, and video playback. A successful candidate must be capable of critical thinking, must demonstrate strong problem solving abilities, and must be open-minded. Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Responsibilities:
Experience Requirements: Previous professional software development experience is required - primarily with JavaScript, and previous experience with BrightScript/Roku development is HIGHLY preferred, but not required. Knowledge of video, streaming, or playback in any capacity is a plus. * 5+ years professional experience - Playback related development within the Roku environment, which will be the main focus * Knowledge sharing and leveraging past experience will be required. * Collaboration with client application teams, services engineering, product, and QA teams. * Strong general programming skills, such as C#, Rust, JavaScript * Desire to be an individual contributor in a multi-developer, geographically diverse environment * Effective written and verbal communication skills The following tools are used, knowledge of these tools is beneficial, but not required. * Github * Jenkins * Confluence Wiki * JIRA * Slack |
