Summary

Balfour Beatty is adding a Procurement Specialist to our Jacksonville, Florida-based procurement team. This hybrid role offers a mix of remote work and in-person teamwork. The candidate should live near a Balfour Beatty U.S. office.

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for supporting end-to-end sourcing programs, including data collection and analysis, interrogating multiple data sources, and preparing data to inform procurement decisions. This role also involves preparing RFI and RFP documents, evaluating tenders, negotiating contracts, implementing Supplier Relationship Management processes, and maintaining effective communication with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.


Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement, communicate, and monitor a comprehensive preferred supplier network across categories contributing to an overall category plan.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and monitor supplier reporting and benefits tracking metrics to demonstrate the ongoing value of procurement activities.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to influence behaviors and ensure the appropriate involvement of Procurement in all relevant sourcing activities.
  • Support savings project activities (including RFPs, RFIs, direct negotiations, etc.) under the guidance of department leadership.
  • Analyze, consolidate, and rationalize historical spend data within assigned categories.
  • Be the expert on strategic procurement procedures for your categories, and the go-to resource for internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver a clear communications strategy for cascading news of important activities to stakeholders.
  • Provide support in preparing category-level forecasts and financial performance reports.
  • Implement robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) processes, ensuring metrics, governance, and actions are in place for continuous improvement.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with 0-2 years of related professional experience preferred; OR equivalent related experience in procurement or finance related activities may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience and aptitude in data analytics tools and methodologies.
  • Good listening skills and able to focus on issues critical to stakeholders.
  • Sharp, critical thinker, with a tenacious personality.
  • Strong customer focus with a commitment to meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Knowledge of contracts and contract negotiation.
  • Comfortable with raw datasets and expertise in Microsoft excel (Power pivot tables, v- lookups, advanced formulas, etc.). Experience with business analytics and visualization tools (i.e. DOMO, Power BI) a plus.
  • Able to prepare detailed, error-free analyses and present findings in a clear, concise manner.
  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
  • Experience in the construction industry would be advantageous.
