The Vice President of Quality:

  • Direct the Quality Department and the organization-wide system for Quality Assessment Performance Improvement ("QAPI") including the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective, ongoing QAPI program in each of the organization's service lines.
  • Assure appropriate organization-wide quality infrastructure and appropriate coordination of efforts across all Service Lines.
  • Ensures the organization meets all federal and state quality reporting requirements and meets goals to improve publicly reported quality measures, including but not limited to Hospice and Home Health star ratings, Hospice Quality Reporting Program, Home Health Quality Reporting Program, and PACE Quality Monitoring and Reporting.
  • Develop inclusive strategic plans and strategies by collaborating with the leadership team, clinical leaders and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with leadership, special committees, and consultants to execute strategies.
  • Communicate strategy effectively throughout the organization.
  • Ensure suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and progress.
  • Lead and strategize with senior leadership the continued evolution of the organization's customer driven culture with the goal of world-class patient experience.
  • Utilize a team of professionals and administrative support staff to assure comprehensive quality and safety programs which meet the needs of the staff and the organization.
  • Is an integral part of new program development and evaluation, assuring a built-in process for quality assessment and performance improvement processes.
  • Interact with key leadership to align QAPI activities with organization strategic goals
  • Partner with clinical and non-clinical administrative leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of on-going performance improvement monitoring and evaluation activities across the organization and to assist with analysis, prioritization and development of appropriate action plans
  • Ensure that QAPI and Safety Programs meet regulatory requirements, are monitored on an ongoing basis, evaluated for effectiveness and continuous improvement, and that the programs meet the priorities of care and safety.
  • Provide assistance for organizational change and process improvement strategies by coaching and educating management on tools and techniques (including, but not necessarily limited to Lean/Six Sigma techniques) for process improvement, and the need for the development of action plans used to implement and sustain changes necessary for improvement.
  • As part of the QAPI Program, manages a process for all internal and external customer satisfaction surveys including survey development, data collection and analysis, and action planning for improvements that will meet or exceed the needs of all customers.
  • Support Performance Improvement Projects through the proper utilization of staff and resources to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement using data driven decision making.
  • Oversee a department that is responsible to organize, analyze, communicate and maintain performance improvement related data. Other duties as assigned.

Qualification/Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in business administration healthcare administration, or Public Health; Master's Degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years proven background in healthcare quality and/or patient experience, strategic planning and Lean process design and process improvement preferred.
  • Experience with hospice, palliative care, and home care leadership preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of professional experience and education may be considered as meeting the Education/Professional requirements.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple projects under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Ability to work professionally with sensitive information and maintain complete confidentiality.
  • Flexibility, with ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Employees must sign a Business Protection Agreement.
