Responsibilities:



  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and vendor agreements.
  • Provide strategic advice on contractual terms and conditions to align with business goals and compliance requirements.
  • Manage contract lifecycle processes, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks related to contracts and operations.
  • Develop and maintain risk management policies and procedures tailored to government contracting requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to proactively address potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and contractual obligations, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Conduct periodic compliance audits and provide training to employees on relevant legal and regulatory topics.
  • Support internal investigations related to potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Work closely with business units, procurement, finance, and operations teams to support contractual and compliance needs.
  • Provide guidance on intellectual property, data rights, and other specialized legal issues pertinent to government contracting.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of templates, playbooks, and policies to streamline contract and compliance processes.
  • Assist in resolving disputes, claims, or issues arising from contracts.
  • Support litigation and administrative actions as needed, in coordination with external counsel.


Qualifications:



  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in SC or eligible for in-house exception.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in government contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other government contracting regulations.
  • Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
