Provide strategic advice on contractual terms and conditions to align with business goals and compliance requirements. Manage contract lifecycle processes, including renewals, amendments, and terminations. Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks related to contracts and operations. Develop and maintain risk management policies and procedures tailored to government contracting requirements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to proactively address potential risks and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and contractual obligations, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). Conduct periodic compliance audits and provide training to employees on relevant legal and regulatory topics. Support internal investigations related to potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions as needed. Work closely with business units, procurement, finance, and operations teams to support contractual and compliance needs. Provide guidance on intellectual property, data rights, and other specialized legal issues pertinent to government contracting. Assist in the development and maintenance of templates, playbooks, and policies to streamline contract and compliance processes. Assist in resolving disputes, claims, or issues arising from contracts. Support litigation and administrative actions as needed, in coordination with external counsel. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in SC or eligible for in-house exception. Minimum of 2 years of experience in government contracting. Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other government contracting regulations. Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex contracts. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
