State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking a Training Specialist to enhance employee performance and effectiveness through engaging and impactful training programs. In this role, you will design and implement individual and group training initiatives that align with SDFCU's organizational priorities. - Maintains knowledge of credit union services, computer programs, policies, procedures, and available resources to be able to train and assist employees as needed.
- Designs employee training programs, including developing and updating curriculum, manuals, tests, exercises, simulations, handouts, checklists, and other supplementary material for each training topic.
- Trains new and current employees to use proper operational procedures, to follow SDFCU policy, to use Synapsys/Episys and other systems, to use personal computers including software, email, and Intranet/Internet, and on other essential skills; Supervises employees during training including ensuring and documenting attendance, reviewing and correcting completed work, providing guidance and coaching, administering tests to determine knowledge, determining successful completion of training program, and providing verbal and written evaluations.
- Provides feedback to supervisors and follows-up with employees to determine additional training needs.
- Assists with testing, training, documentation and implementation of Episys releases, including Synapsys, Meridian Link, DocuSign, Evolve and Digital Insight. Troubleshoots problems and answers employee's questions.
- Assists staff with questions regarding Episys commands and their use, resets passwords and sets up new user access as requested.
- Conducts computer training classes including but not limited to Microsoft Office, serves as a resource for employees regarding software questions.
- Updates Procedures Manual, Product Manual, and Member Services and Teller Manuals and PolicyTech.
- Updates Training's Intranet Page.
- Attend training sessions to become qualified to teach applicable courses.
Required Skills and Competencies
- 1-3 years of training and course development and design.
- Experience in bank or credit union retail branch delivery and/or call center environment desired.
- Excellent communication skills, including oral presentation skills, interpersonal skills, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365; good working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, and HTML.
- Demonstrated skills in research and analysis.
- Proven ability to think creatively.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and independently.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- College degree with coursework in English, education, or training preferred.
