Summary:

UNC Therapy Services is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Physical Therapist I to join our outpatient specialty clinic in Durham that focuses on pelvic health, lymphedema therapies, and oncology rehabilitation. We are seeking candidates that have interest in pelvic health physical therapy and/or lymphedema to help us grow these programs.

The ideal candidate has an interest in providing rehabilitation to a small portion of pediatric caseload. While pelvic health and pediatric experience is preferred, it is not required and the department will provide training to build the necessary skills including financial coverage of formal training, and onsite mentorship opportunities to help you grow professionally in this specialized field.

The clinic is focused on teaching and learning skills to enhance patient experiences and outcomes. The clinic serves as host location to the Women's Health residency program at UNC Health, which would enable the candidate opportunity to interact with the Program Coordinator and other mentors in the program.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care: Conduct evidence-based evaluations and provide comprehensive treatments for pelvic health and/or lymphedema conditions in both pediatric and adult populations.
  2. Diagnostic Testing: Perform diagnostic tests as needed to assess patient conditions and inform treatment plans.
  3. Mentorship & Education: Provide supervision and education to graduate Physical Therapy students and clinical fellows/residents, contributing to the development of innovative care programs.
  4. Clinical Evaluation: Regularly assess diagnostic and therapeutic test results to modify treatment plans as needed, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients. Facilitate communication among interdisciplinary teams for continuity of care.
  5. Community Involvement: Serve as a clinical resource and participate in outreach initiatives that focus on underserved populations. Engage with community programs promote health, wellness and the profession.
  6. Professional Participation: Actively contribute to departmental meetings and training sessions, supporting the quality and consistency of clinical care within the department.
  7. Quality Improvement: Maintain detailed patient records and participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and operational efficiency.
