The Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Florida International University invites applications for a Clinical CRNA Faculty position at a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Nursing Anesthesiology Department. The CRNA program boasts a No. 33 ranking by USNews and World Report. The Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences offers baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degree programs in six professional disciplines, including the DNP for Nurse Anesthetists. Located within the Academic Health Center of FIU, instruction is offered in state-of-the-art multimedia classrooms, research labs, and a patient simulation center that includes four high tech OR/anesthesia simulation stations. Faculty participate in didactic, simulation, and clinical teaching as well as supervision of doctoral projects. Our innovative curriculum incorporates instructional technology that includes web-enhanced instruction, a flipped classroom format, computerized testing, and problem-based learning and Objective Structure Clinical Evaluation (OSCE) simulation examinations. Numerous opportunities exist for faculty development as well as scholarship, research, presentations, and publications as a clinician-educator Candidates must be a graduate of a regionally accredited nurse anesthesia program and hold a minimum of a doctorate in nursing practice, (i.e., DNP, DNAP, PhD, DNSc,). Candidates should be proficient in all forms of anesthesia practice, hold current CRNA recertification, and be eligible for ARNP licensure in Florida. Previous didactic and clinical teaching experience in a CRNA program is preferred. In lieu of academic experience, CRNAs with prior experience in clinical teaching or in-service instruction are encouraged to apply.
