The Role

Atlas Copco is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Technician to oversee the torque validation and calibration activities for our handheld power tools, torque wrenches, and fixtured tooling at our customer's facility, BMW in Greer, South Carolina. As a QC Technician, you will ensure that all tools are within the target torque range, complete necessary protocols for out-of-spec tools, and collaborate directly with the customer as needed. This role will also require maintaining continuous improvement principles and applying lean manufacturing techniques to ensure optimal tool performance.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise to meet customer contract requirements and quality standards.
  • Communicate directly with the customer to ensure alignment and address any concerns.
  • Conduct "line walks" to monitor tool performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy in torque program settings, including angle measurements, speeds, and calibration.
  • Maintain legal retention standards for data collection and documentation related to torque validation.
  • Develop and implement error-proofing strategies for fasteners under containment.

You will report to the Site Manager and report daily onsite at our customer's, BMW, Greer, South Carolina facility. You may be required to travel up to 5% nationally for training purposes. The schedule for this position is 4 10-hour days on B-Shift (7:30pm-6:10am). The pay is $24.00 per hour and a full benefits package is offered.

To Succeed, You Will Need:

  • Experience in calibrations and assembly tooling

  • At least two years of customer service experience and a interactive personality

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • At least one year of Troubleshooting experience

  • IT experience with Windows-based computer systems, and networking or databases

  • Ability lift up to 60lbs
