Aspect Consulting (Aspect), a Geosyntec Company, an earth science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking a junior to mid-level Water Resources Geologist or Hydrogeologist to join our Water Resources practice in our Yakima, WA office. This role is a full-time, career-track position with an initial focus on field data collection, data analysis, and report writing to support water system development and permitting, growing into more project and client management responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Compile and analyze data, including preparation of hydrographs, water quality diagrams, and graphical representations of subsurface conditions, and development of site-specific conceptual hydrogeologic models.
  • Analyze aquifer and well testing data using analytical models and industry-standard software.
  • Conduct property due diligence evaluations, including research of historic water use, site inspections, property owner interviews, and research of county, state, and federal records
  • Provide regulatory assistance and support preparation of water resource permit applications, with a focus on water rights.
  • Oversee and direct drilling contractors, direct well construction and rehabilitation activities, and log soil and rock conditions.
  • Deploy field monitoring equipment (e.g., pressure transducers) and conduct groundwater and surface water sampling under a wide-range of well and surface conditions, including low-flow sampling.
  • With senior guidance, design, conduct, and execute aquifer and well testing campaigns.
  • Prepare technical reports and memorandums for senior review by applying your effective writing skills
  • Use public speaking and communication skills to present work at public and industry events


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelors Degree in geology, hydrogeology, or related discipline (required)
  • Master's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or related discipline (preferred)
  • Licensure as a Professional Geologist, Hydrogeologist, or Geologist-in-Training (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience (5+ preferred) in a consulting environment conducting fieldwork on environmental and/or water supply projects. (required)
  • Familiarity with analytical and conceptual hydrogeologic modeling to support permitting and/or water system design.
  • Knowledge of and experience with aquifer test methods and analysis.
  • Knowledge of soil and rock classification standards, geochemistry, and analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling.
  • Applied knowledge of water system planning and/or permitting
  • Ability to collect quality field data, including a high level of attention to detail and thorough documentation.
  • Clear writing and communication
  • Ability and willingness to accommodate occasional overnight travel to client sites and meetings, typically within the Pacific Northwest. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $59,995/year / Maximum Salary: $92,730/year (Yakima, WA)
