The Impact You'll Make

Be a part of the exciting Sabre 3D process and technology team. Our mission is to advance and innovate WFE (wafer fab equipment) electrodeposition process and technology in the field of advanced wafer level packaging.

What You'll Do

This process engineer intern position entails working in the areas of process and technology research and development. Duties include:

  • Carrying out research and development projects in the field of advanced wafer level packaging interconnects formation processes and materials.
  • Designing, setting up, and running bench scale experiments.
  • Applying engineering and electrodeposition methodologies towards enhancing and developing features on Lam SABRE 3D equipment and electrodeposition reactor performance.
  • Operations and testing of the application lab deposition development tool, chemistry and material analysis, and use of metrology tools to measure and characterize on wafer deposition performance. Formulate, optimize and determine appropriate variables, targets and limits of process and equipment specifications. Compiles and evaluates data to develop working models and specifications.
Who We're Looking For
  • Pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science
  • Available for a 6-month internship starting in March 2025.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands on experience working with wet chemistry
  • Skilled in electrochemistry
  • Metallurgy expertise in areas of copper, tin and tin-alloys, nickel electrodeposition a plus
  • Knowledgeable in areas of fluid mechanics, transport, and surface science, analytical techniques.
  • Interest in advanced technology and an on-going desire to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners.
  • Collaboration/ Matrix environment mindset.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
