As a Professional Coding Supervisor at Datavant, you will oversee and manage coding teams, focusing on optimizing both quality and productivity through continuous training, performance monitoring, and process improvements. You will ensure that coding is accurate, efficient, and compliant with industry standards while fostering a collaborative environment to meet deadlines and client expectations. Additionally, you will manage client interactions, ensuring clear communication, addressing concerns, and delivering high-quality results that support the HIM Revenue Cycle department's goals of operational excellence and data integrity.

You will:



  • Verify schedule entry and hours worked for assigned coders.
  • Receive, merge, and track quality scores and feedback for assigned coders.
  • Receive, merge, and track charts per hour for assigned coders.
  • Provide daily productivity summaries to coders, including education on time management and best coding practices.
  • Report trends in quality and productivity to management, identifying education opportunities for improvement.
  • Receive, record, and approve time-off requests for coders.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Coding Operations to complete or escalate Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
  • Deliver performance reviews for employees based on company policies and procedures, focusing on quality, dependability, flexibility, and coding adherence.
  • Act as a liaison for coders, addressing daily/weekly concerns and presenting them to the Manager of Coding Operations.
  • Plan, facilitate and lead client interactions, assuring strong delivery of coding services that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Escalate client abrasion to department leadership and collaborate to define action plans as needed.
  • Complete any other tasks as required by management.


What you will bring to the table:



  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-9/10 and familiarity with HCC coding.
  • 5+ years of coding experience.
  • 2+ years of coding management experience and a strong knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, pharmacology, and disease processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high quality.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with time management capabilities, particularly in remote work environments.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware/software for effective data processing and security.
  • Flexibility in the work environment, with the ability to manage multiple client projects.
  • AHIMA or AAPC certified credentials (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC, or CRC)

Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $73,300 - $85,000.
