Overview

VTG is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to work in our Fabrication Shop in Virginia Beach, VA.


What will you do?

  • Perform comprehensive inspections of fabricated components, materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
  • Conduct thorough tests, measurements, and evaluations of samples to identify any defects, non-conformities, or deviations from requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection findings, test results, and other quality-related documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the production team to address any quality issues, providing guidance and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to quality control procedures and standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate measures.
  • Conduct regular audits of the fabrication shop to assess overall compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality control plans, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Provide training and support to production personnel on quality-related topics, ensuring a consistent understanding and application of quality standards.
  • Investigate and analyze customer complaints or non-conformance issues, coordinating with relevant departments to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components, conducting inspections and audits when necessary.
  • Modifies, applies, and maintains quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished material or product.

Do you have what it takes?

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma / GED, plus two (2) - four (4) years of related experience.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Must be a US Citizen.
