Summary: The Manager of Internal Communications develops, implements, and oversees strategies to improve internal communication across Goodwill Industries of the Valleys. This role ensures consistent, transparent, and effective communication that aligns with organizational goals and values.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the internal communications program at Goodwill, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, values, and guiding principles to foster a positive and cohesive work culture.
- Manage the creation and dissemination of communication materials across multiple channels and platforms, ensuring consistency and clarity.
- Plan and conduct regular site visits to stores and program offices, ensuring visibility and accessibility of communications throughout the organizational footprint.
- Simplify and convey complex information into clear, impactful messaging for all levels of the organization.
- Drive the development and delivery of the Internal Communications Strategy, ensuring it aligns with organizational goals and contributes to measurable improvements in employee satisfaction, as demonstrated through regular surveys.
- Initiate and implement creative ideas and communication solutions to engage and inform employees effectively.
- Develop, execute, and continuously improve the Internal Communications Strategic Plan to create a cohesive and productive work environment.
- Monitor and analyze employee satisfaction data from surveys and other feedback channels to refine communication strategies.
- Safeguard confidential information when appropriate.
- Provide training and guidance to leaders on effective communication practices and tools to support healthy workplace communication.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal messaging, ensuring employees remain informed, engaged, and motivated.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with all departments to foster trust and open communication across the organization.
- Exemplify Goodwill's core values (Serve, Lead, Include, Mentor, and Excel) in all actions and communications.
- Ensure the timely completion of all assigned projects, proactively managing priorities and deadlines.
- Attend training sessions, meetings, and company-related events as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to lead internal communication efforts and align messaging with organizational goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to various business segments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset for relationship-building across departments.
- Skilled in leading an Internal Communications Committee, focus groups and facilitating discussions to achieve shared goals.
- Proficiency in cross-departmental collaboration to address diverse needs and improve outcomes.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and video editing software is preferred.
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Experience:
- A minimum of three years' experience in managing internal communications within diverse organizations is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field is preferred.
- Must be able to successfully complete any assigned Goodwill training within the required period of time upon employment.
Special Requirements:
- Personal vehicle usage is required for this position, must possess a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and the ability to provide proof of insurance for driving on company business.
- An acceptable motor vehicle record, based on Goodwill guidelines, is required for driving a personal or company vehicle.
- Must provide a cell phone for specified work responsibilities, including the use of a phone-based application for authentication.
- A high-speed, reliable broadband internet connection is required for job functions.
- Must successfully complete a state background investigation and drug screen.
