Overview The EPA National Student Services Contract has 2 immediate openings for a part time Program Operations Assistance position with the Office of Research and Development at the EPA facility in Duluth, MN. The Office of Research and Development at the EPA supports high-quality research to improve the scientific basis for decisions on national environmental issues and help EPA achieve its environmental goals. Research is conducted in a broad range of environmental areas by scientists in EPA laboratories and at universities across the country. What the EPA project is about The Great Lakes Toxicology and Ecology Division (GLTED) within ORD's Center for Computational Toxicology and Exposure (CCTE)is responsible for providing scientific information for use in predicting and assessing effects of pollutants and other stressors on our nation's freshwater resources. Within this context, GLTED's research areas contribute to multiorganizational programs, involving scientists within ORD and from other partner Agencies. This position is in the Division Program Operations Staff (D-POS) of the Great Lakes Toxicology and Ecology Division (GLTED), Duluth, Minnesota, and assists the Chief of Program Operations. The Program Operations team provides leadership, management, oversight, and support for the operations of the Safety, Health, and Environmental Management (SHEM), Property and Space Management, Facilities Management and Support, Building & Facilities (B&F) resource/funds management, Capital Equipment implementation and installation support, specialized research equipment design and fabrication, accountable property inventory, Fleet Management, and office management services and oversees administrative support functions to the various Branches within GLTED. Responsibilities As a team member, you will assist the D-POS team with the administrative duties required to support and maintain day-to-day program operations, including the administration, management, and logistics of government resources. The team members will assist the SHEM team with the technical and administrative duties required to provide on-site support in the implementation of national, state, and local SHEM related regulations and guidelines including Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Transportation, and Department of Health and Human Services, National Fire Protection Association requirements in the workplace. Salary: Selected applicant will become a temporary employee of ORAU and will receive an hourly wage of $19.84 for hours worked. Hours: Part-time - up to 20 hours per week. Travel: Occasional travel may be required. Expected start date: The position is part time and expected to begin January 2025.
