Counselor

Location: MCI Shirley, Shirley MA

Pay Rate: $25.96/hour ($54,000 annually)

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree/Master's degree or equivalent experience in criminal justice, human services, education, or closely related field required.
• Previous experience with incarcerated population is a plus.

The Counselor for the Secure Adjustment Unit program is responsible for:

• Assessing and evaluating inmate needs.
• Monitoring inmate compliance with all program and Massachusetts Department of Correction (MA DOC) rules and regulations.
• Facilitating classes and group sessions as defined by curriculum and according to Spectrum Health Systems standards.
• Maintaining records in accordance with Spectrum and MA DOC policies and procedures.
• Participating in multi-disciplinary treatment planning, case reviews, conferences and other meetings as directed.
• Providing case management services as assigned.
