Position description

The Department of Population Health and Disease Prevention, the Joe C. Wen School of Population and Public Health at the University of California-Irvine seeks a (junior, assistant, associate) specialist for research in cancer survivorship and quality of life after cancer in the UCI Behavioral Medicine Research Laboratory (www.bmed.publichealth.uci.edu).

We are seeking to hire a highly motivated, dedicated individual who has excellent organization, communication, and research skills, and understands cancer survivorship. This person will: 1) contribute to efforts in the recruitment and enrollment of research participants; 2) work closely with the principal investigator to administer research assessments and facilitate biological specimen collection and transport; 3) maintain project documentation and reporting; 4) conduct qualitative interviews and code interview data; and 5) assist in grant writing and research dissemination. Ability and experience delivering behavioral interventions is encouraged.

This position is grant funded. Position is renewable, contingent on satisfactory performance and funding availability

Qualifications:

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree emphasis in public health, psychology, behavioral science, or other related fields. Candidates should have knowledge and skills related to research project management, research methods, data collection, behavioral or psychotherapeutic interventions, and proposal and manuscript writing. Applicants should possess solid organizational and time management skills and have ability to work in a team environment with ever-changing priorities. Spanish-speaking candidates are highly preferred.
