About the Company:SaaS platform tailored for the life science industry

Title: Senior Accountant

Location: San Diego - Hybrid

Salary:$90-125k + Additional opportunity for commission based on sales closed that this role supports

Responsibilities:
Accounting
  • Oversee internal accounting, including AP, AR, and timely processing.
  • Review contracts and timesheets for customer invoicing and ensure timely payment collection.
  • Ensure on-time vendor payments and maintain positive supplier relationships.
  • Manage regular payroll, including commissions.
  • Perform bookkeeping tasks (data entry, reconciliation, document filing) to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Use QuickBooks Online to manage financial data.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including SaaS metrics and financial statements for investors.
  • Generate monthly financial statements, forecasts, and other analyses.
  • Develop and manage a 5-year forecast, budget, and monthly budget-to-actual reports.
Compliance & Control
  • Implement accounting best practices and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Develop internal controls and accounting processes to improve financial transaction accuracy.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure proper classification of expenses and revenue.
Sales Support
  • As a CPA, provide accounting support during key sales activities, including product demos and meetings.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA certification
  • 3-5 years of experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm
  • Experience auditing biotech companies
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
  • Strong knowledge of AP, AR, payroll, and general accounting principles
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, revenue tracking, and budget management
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership
