Job Description

  1. System Management and Operational Support
    • Oversee the installation, management, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networking, audiovisual systems, and software, to support simulation and nursing education needs.
    • Ensure connectivity and integration between simulation technology and the broader IT infrastructure.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot simulation equipment, including manikins and other simulation typologies, to ensure full operational capacity.
    • Oversee and manage media file usage, including storage, security, and appropriate disposal or destruction of sensitive content.
    • Supervise IT student workers, prioritizing tasks to meet simulation and educational needs efficiently.
  2. Technical Support and Troubleshooting
    • Provide first-line assistance for IT teaching technologies used by nursing faculty and simulation instructors.
    • Collaborate with campus IT to address any specific technology requirements within the simulation center.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance schedules to ensure ongoing reliability of equipment.
    • Support faculty in using IT and simulation technology, providing training and guidance on effective use for educational purposes.
  3. Simulation and Educational Technology Development
    • Maintain and improve technical proficiency in simulation software and hardware, staying up to date with advances in simulation typologies, equipment, and methodologies.
    • Assist in creating, manipulating, and revising video and graphic content to enhance simulation-based learning.
    • Provide technical guidance on the integration and use of new simulation tools, such as virtual reality systems, within the simulation center.
    • Assist in website management and digital communications to enhance the visibility and accessibility of the simulation center's resources and offerings.
  4. Additional Responsibilities (Simulation Technology and Project Support):
    • Program and maintain simulator and manikin control systems to support simulation-based education objectives.
    • Support ongoing training needs by participating in professional development related to simulation technologies, such as Laerdal and Gaumard systems.
    • Develop operational protocols for simulation equipment repair, troubleshooting, and replacement, prioritizing simulation needs.
    • Collaborate with faculty facilitators and the Simulation Director to ensure that simulation technology aligns with the standards of best practice as set by the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $58,573 - $83,304 Annual
