Director, People Messaging

Job Summary

Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide people, communication strategies that align with Equinix's values and strategic goals. The Director will be responsible for crafting and executing, impactful, internal communications campaigns, supporting the Chief People Officer's voice, and reinforcing the Employee Value Proposition at all levels.

Responsibilities
People/Communications Strategy


  • Design and coach the team and business partners on communication strategies that reinforce our company, values, performance initiatives, and our operating model

  • Provide partnership to HR and operations, ensuring alignment between communication, goals, and organizational objectives

  • Develop framework and guidelines for consistent tone, style, and messaging in all internal communications

  • Facilitate strategic communication planning and content mapping for the people, communications team, ensuring all initiatives align with the broader organizational narrative


Employee Engagement & EVP Delivery


  • Plan an execute communication campaigns that enhance employee understanding and engagement with the employee value proposition and key HR initiatives

  • Oversee the creation and distribution of employee engagement, materials, including internal newsletters, video messaging, and Townhall content

  • Measure and track the impact of engagement initiatives through surveys, engagement, metrics, and feedback loops

  • Industry, best practices and technology to continually enhance the effectiveness of employee engagement strategies


Leadership Communications & Support


  • Serve as a communications advisor to senior leaders, to amplify their voice and message across the organization

  • Guide leadership messaging around change management, organizational goals, and company culture

  • Coordinate with internal comms and other stakeholders to ensure executive messaging is effectively cascaded to all employees

  • Mentor and lead team of communications practitioners, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative, work environment

  • Create a supportive environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth within the team


Qualifications


  • Bachelors or Masters degree in communications, journalism, public relations, HR, or a related field

  • 10+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or related role

  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership position

  • Expertise in employee engagement strategies, and best practices

  • Familiarity with communication analytics tools to measure and improve effectiveness

  • Inclusive leadership experience

  • Ability to manage and lead in ambiguity and changing environment
