About the Job

The Department of Radiology at the University of Minnesota seeks a scientist to join a collaborative research program developing an advanced magnetic resonance imaging platform for non-invasive arteria spin labeling imaging at ultra-high fields, such as 7T. The research will be conducted at the University's world-renowned Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR), in collaboration with colleagues from CMRR and other collaborating institutions.

Primary responsibility will be to design, construct, test, perform simulation for and validate MRI coils, and to evaluate the performance of the coils, as well as research sequences, by performing MRI studies in either phantoms or healthy volunteers. Additional responsibility will include assessing MRI data quality, achieving, processing and analyzing MRI data for manuscript preparation and presentations, interacting with other team members and collaborators, and pursuing research and other scholarly activities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications
Required:
- PhD in MRI physics, biomedical engineering, or similar fields, such as electrical engineering
- Rich experience in MRI coil design, construction, electromagnetic simulation, and validation
- Good at performing MRI studies to test coils and imaging sequences, processing and analyzing MRI data using MATLAB or Python, as well as other professional software packages, such as SPM.
- Track record of scientific publications

Preferred:
- Experience in acquiring MRI data from human subjects.
- Good communication skills
- Experience working with research participants and/or clinical patients.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $61,008 - $74,088; depending on education/qualifications/experience
