Intern, Application Developer

Encova Insurance will have a need for an Intern, Applications Developer for our Charleston, WV office. This is a full-time summer internship for summer 2025 and will require someone who can work at least 40 hours per week. Start and end dates will be based on availability and business need. Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.

This role will report to the Manager, Application Development.

Pay=$22.00 per hour

Job Objective:

The Application Development Intern will assist higher level developers in the development and support of both Client and Server-Side database applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work with a mentor on Knowledge transfer of the use of our developer environment tools, ancillary software tools and technology.
• Participate in team meetings and internal scrum discussions.
• Work with mentor to learn and demonstrate development and administrative processes and procedures.
• Write, test and document code needed to implement approved requests for changes.
• Test and debug new or modified code to verify its accuracy and completeness.
• Assist peers in root cause analysis of production incidents.
• Consistently engage in behaviors that produce great experiences and outcomes.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Other tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.
• Must be actively enrolled and pursuing a degree. Preference may be given to Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Programming or related major.
