Position Summary

At Stony Brook Medicine, a Senior Programmer Analyst is a valuable member of our IT Interface Group, and will provide maintenance and support of all production interfaces on the interface engine. Candidate will also be involved in analyzing, developing and testing of new interfaces. Multitasking skills are a must. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence.

Duties of a Senior Programmer Analyst - IT Interface Group may include the following but are not limited to:



  • With a clear understanding of integration, coordinate with other members of IT, ancillary departments and vendors on interface projects.
  • Analyze and develop new interface applications working from specifications.
  • Document all development efforts following established policies and procedures.
  • Employ standards to ensure data accuracy, security and privacy of information to which candidate has access.
  • Participate in interface engine upgrades.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation providing support of the interface engine.



Qualifications

Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in application programming.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong background in designing, developing, testing and implementing a full project life cycle.
  • Ability to learn quickly and multitask in a fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve interface and technical issues.
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are essential.



Preferred:



  • Knowledge of HL7 standards.
  • Experience with Lyniate Rhapsody or comparable integration engine.
  • Experience with RHEL operating system and proficiency in shell scripting.
  • Familiar with API web-based applications.
  • Familiar with JavaScript, JSON, FHIR.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.

  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position is - $87872 - $118262 / year.

The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.

Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:

* Location pay for UUP, CSEA & PEF full-time positions ($3400)
