Spring Harbor, Adolescent Unit

A 14-bed unit designed for the care of children, generally at the ages 12-20 years old, who require acute mental health treatment. Typically, these patients are animminent risk to themselves or others, or are unable to function at a lower level of care due to their psychiatric symptoms.

Position Highlights:

  • Sign-on bonus: Up to $2,000, contingent upon eligibility
  • Base hourly rate: $19.53

What you will do:

  • Develop a working knowing of therapeutic interventions and interactions for common diagnosis of population served.
  • Maintain the unit schedule and facilitate timely transitions.
  • Assist patients with Daily Living Skills (ADLs) as directed by an RN

Responsibilities

  • Follow patient's treatment and behavior plan.
  • Conduct environmental rounds as assigned and remove any sharps or prohibited items.
  • Facilitate milieu based community groups and leisure/recreation groups
  • Accompany patients on transports as assigned

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Social Services preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: N/A
