Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Cable Technician II to join our team on the upcoming Enterprise DISA JSP ETM Services 2.0 program.

This position is onsite in the Washington, DC area.



Duties & Responsibilities

    Perform complex installations and maintenance of cable infrastructure, ensuring all cabling and network assets meet baseline configurations as per JSP and DoD standards.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of network assets, configurations, and changes in the CMDB to maintain alignment with DoD and JSP engineering standards.

  • Track and document the warranty and licensing of hardware and software in the Unclassified Government system, ensuring updates throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Assist in configuring and validating network systems, following DISA's STIG requirements to ensure security compliance.

  • Support the provision of secure, uninterrupted access to the CMDB for authorized personnel and assist in integrating configuration management data with systems from other agencies as required.

  • Prepare and contribute to the Monthly Asset and Configuration Management Report, detailing changes in hardware and software baselines, licensing status, and compliance with configuration standards.



Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Related field or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience; 3+ years within the DOD environment.
  • Must be familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Well-versed in the use of network cabling test equipment, including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs), and fiber power meters.
  • Analyzes, administers, and maintains telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
  • Dress, terminate, and test cables and components; ability to work with power tools and ladders.
  • Tests, locates, installs, and repairs cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls and performs routine maintenance.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs voice and data communications systems.
  • Identifies, tracks, and removes abandoned cable, and keeps cables neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with personnel of various expertise levels.
  • Solid customer support skills in a high-visibility environment
  • Problem analysis and problem solving.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Certifications: Fiber Optic, CAT6 Installation
